Ever feel like your life has no meaning or importance? In The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom, the main character Eddie feels exactly that way. At age 83, Eddie dies at the amusement park where he has worked nearly his entire life. When he arrives in heaven, he meets five different people, one at a time. As each person explains to Eddie how their lives were once connected, Eddie learns things about his life that he had never known before. By the time Eddie meets his fifth and final person in heaven, he knows that his life was important, and that he did make a difference. Even though Eddie led what seemed like an ordinary life-growing up with a mother, father, and younger brother; serving in the Vietnam War; and working at an amusement park as a maintenance worker-this book shows how things are not always what they seem, and anyone can make a difference in the world.
