| This is a very magical, almost spiritual, book that keeps you turning the pages. This tragic & unusual story of a boy from India lost at sea on a raft with a tiger as his companion is one of the best books I've ever read. |
| Life of Pi, by Yann Martel is an interesting and comical example of survival against the odds as well as an in-depth and enlightening view on different religions. The author uses detailed yet understandable descriptions to bring life to the situation and the various people and animals that occur in the book. Through strength of mind, Pi accomplishes and survives so many changes and problems that threaten his life as well as his view on life. The story is very intelligent and well-thought out. |
