| I enjoyed this book very much. It is is about an experiment gone horribly wrong. A private company was doing interesting things with nanotechnology. They figured out a way to manufacture nanotechnology and they are able to do cool things with the output, like making these tiny, tiny things work together to function as a camera that can, for example, take pictures anywhere inside the human body, or for the military be able to relay real time battle footage. The only problem was that the nanoparticles could not fly when in the wind. So the programmers put new code in so the swarm could evolve on its own. They then left it out in the desert. The swarm solved the problem but, soon the swarm got out of hand and the company lost all control of it. With the deadly swarm on the run, reproducing, and killing anything that moves the company tries to regain control. I enjoyed this so much i finished it in two nights. If you are interested in technology this is a great book. Also it helps to know a little biology before reading it. |
